What I do

Words are obviously how we communicate everything from a business idea to a childhood memory — but you can’t effectively convey those thoughts if your writing isn’t clear, correct and persuasive. I love taking an idea and crafting it into something that explains it in an interesting way so readers can quickly understand and get excited about something.

I’m an expert at writing, editing and organizing information, and I can turn my hand to almost any topic in any medium. Thanks to my newspaper background, I’m very fast and efficient, so tight deadlines are not a problem. Here are some of the things I can do for you:

  • Editing of all kinds — tightening and clarifying language, shortening or summarizing complex documents, copy editing and proofreading, reorganizing content for business websites, press releases, blogs, brochures, reports, books, or anything else in verbal form. I’ve written and edited academic, technical, business, engineering and medical publications and am thoroughly familiar with their terminology, as well as all the commonly style guides (CMOS, APA, AP, etc.).
  • Researching and writing web content, reports, press releases, news stories, profiles and features.
  • Designing web pages and print materials (brochures, newsletters, flyers, ads, etc.) from start to finish — researching, writing, editing, designing, proofing, integrating with websites, and working with print vendors.
  • Maintaining and updating websites using WordPress, Drupal, Cascade, and Dreamweaver.
  • Shooting and adjusting photos using Photoshop for use in web or print publications.
